SAND AND STONE

MORAL – DON’T VALUE THE THINGS THAT YOU HAVE IN YOUR LIFE BUT VALUE WHO YOU HAVE IN YOUR LIFE. NEVER FORGET THE GOOD THINGS YOUR DEAR ONES DID FOR YOU.

ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WERE TWO BEST FRIENDS NAMED RUSTY AND FASTY. FASTY WAS AT TIMES ILL-TEMPERED, BUT INSPITE OF THEIR DIFFERENCES THEY GOT ALONG WELL. MOSTLY THEY WENT EVERYWHERE TOGETHER.
ONE FINE DAY, THEY WERE WALKING THROUGH THE DESSERT. DURING SOME POINT OF THEIR JOURNEY THEY HAD AN ARGUMENT, AND FASTY SLAPPED RUSTY ON HIS FACE.
RUSTY FELT REALLY BAD AND WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING HE WROTE ON THE SAND; ‘TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.’ THEY KEPT ON WALKING UNTIL THEY FOUND AN OASIS, WHERE THEY DECIDED TO TAKE A BATH. RUSTY GOT STUCK IN THE MIRE AND STARTED DROWNING, BUT FASTY SAVED HIM.
AFTER RUSTY RECOVERED HE SEARCHED FOR A STONE AND WROTE ON IT; ‘MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE.’ FASTY LOOKED SURPRISED AND ASKED HIM; ‘AFTER I HURT YOU, YOU WROTE IN THE SAND AND NOW YOU WRITE ON STONE, WHY?’ RUSTY REPLIED; ‘WHEN SOMEONE HURTS US WE SHOULD WRITE IT DOWN IN SAND WHERE THE WINDS OF FORGIVENESS CAN ERASE IT AWAY. BUT WHEN SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING GOOD FOR US WE MUST ENGRAVE IT ON A STONE SO THAT NO WIND CAN ERASE IT.’
