Rasam recipe is an authentic South Indian recipe which is easy to prepare and is mostly served with rice. This spicy, tangy, flavorful dish is a favourite!
Ingredients: 4 large size tomatoes 1 tablespoon oil 1 tablespoon mustard seeds 10 curry leaves 1 tablespoon tamarind paste 2 tablespoon rasam powder Salt to taste
Method: 1. Put tomatoes in a pan and cover them with water. 2. Boil them for 10 minutes. 3. Peel the skin and grind the tomatoes. 4. Sieve the fine puree to remove the seeds. 5. On the side take a pan and heat oil on low flame. 6. Add mustard seeds and cook them for a minute 7. Add curry leaves and cook them for a minute 8. Add tomato puree, salt and rasam powder to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes 9. Mix tamarind paste to 3 tablespoon water and add it to the pan 10. Add 2 cups of water to the pan, mix well and let it boil for 4-5 minutes. 11. Serve with steamed rice and papad.
