GULAB JAMUN RECIPE

The Gulab Jamun recipe is a soft syrup filled delicacy of India. It makes a good dessert on special occasions. You can try Loaded Gulab Jamuns by filling dry fruits in them before frying. For this, flatten the ball, fill a little finely chopped dry fruits and wrap close the ball again. Roll it again in the shape of a ball and fry it as given. ABOUT GULAB JAMUN RECIPE

 

Ingredients:
For Sugar syrup:
250 grams sugar
3 cardamom, crushed
1 tablespoon rose water

For Dough Balls:
10 tablespoon milk powder
5 tablespoon all purpose flour (maida)
1 tablespoon semolina (sooji)
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoon curd
2 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon ghee
1 teaspoon nuts, chopped, to garnish
ghee for deep frying

Method:
For Sugar syrup:
Add 1 cup of water in a saucepan and put pan on the medium flame.
Add sugar, cardamom, and rose water
Let the sugar dissolve in water to give thick syrup.
The sugar syrup on lowest flame to keep it hot.

For dough balls:
In a bowl, mix milk powder, flour, semolina and baking soda.
Add curd and milk and mix everything well to make soft dough.
Make small ball without any cracks.
Heat ghee in a kadai, drop a small balls on medium flame so that they are cooked from inside.
Keep stirring till small balls are light golden.
Take them out from the oil and put them in the sugar syrup. Ensure that the pan is of appropriate size so that the balls are completely submerged in the syrup.
Rest them for 20-30 minutes.
For Serving
Take 1-2 balls in a serving bowl with a little syrup.
Garnish balls with chopped nuts and serve.
