GARLIC CHUTNEY RECIPE

GARLIC CHUTNEY RECIPE:
Garlic Chutney recipe has many names like lahsun chutney, poondu chutney and poondu satni. It is primarily served in breakfast with idly or dosa. You can use as pickle for rasam rice and dal rice combination. It is very hot accompaniment. It has very limited ingredients. Once ready you can refrigerate and use it for a few days.

Garlic Chutney Recipe is a spicy and tangy accompaniment. It goes well with vada pav. Must try a variation by adding tomatoes to this wonderblast!

Ingredients:
1/2 cup garlic, peeled
1/2 onion, peeled, chopped
8-10 red chilli, dried
1 teaspoon tamarind paste
1 tablespoon oil
Salt to taste
To Garnish
2 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon chana dal
1 dried red chilli, whole
4 curry leaves
1 teaspoon oil

Method:
1.Soak red chilli in 1 cup of hot water for 6-8 minutes
2. Heat oil in pan and saute garlic for 3 minutes.
3. Add onion and saute till golden brown.
4. Let it cool for a while.
5. Add red chilli, garlic, onion, tamarind and salt to a grinder.
6. Add 1 tablespoon water.
2. Grind to make a course paste and transfer to a serving bowl.
3.Heat the oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, curry leaves, red chilli and dal.
4.Cook until dal turn golden brown.
5.Pour this mixture to garnish chutney to the serving bowl.
6. Serve with your favorite dish.
